What failed to connect?

Separate crossed paths, missed conversational points, conflicting content, and one person’s mistaken belief.

The crossing-arrows test

Use when two people, actions, or messages travel on different routes or timings and fail to connect. Then ask whether their contents actually conflict or someone formed a mistaken interpretation.

Package Diagnostic question Example
Did routes or timings cross without connecting?
Did people pass, or did conversational points fail to meet?
Do two accounts, figures, or understandings conflict?
Did one person settle on a mistaken belief?

A repair sequence

Diagnose the failed connection first, verify the shared understanding second, then repair the message.
